ID was right.

An update on last night's post about the missing books

So, today I came home to find a box on my doorstep. A media mail box, shipped on August 7, before any of my other boxes. Guess what was inside?

So, I'll make my admission public. Interesting Development was right about two things:

1) The order that boxes are shipped in have no bearing on the order they arrive in; and
2) My "panic first, think later" strategy for coping with minor crises may need revision.

Well, glad it turned up! Were they all shipped media mail? That is generally expected to be slower than other mail rates.

That's to show all of us that we jump to bad conclusions too often. Oops.

Glad you got 'em!

Hurrah! Yoga is a fine accomaniment to L&S, btw. And me, I've never been able to shake the "panic first, think later" reflex.

You mean...there's something WRONG with that strategy??

Still waiting for you on Facebook... :)

Ha! Well, good news.

One of my five boxes of books still hasn't come home to the US, but that's one of the four that I sent surface mail, which means I might not see it until October--even though its three surface mail companions arrived the first week I was home.

Glad you got the books back, but if you didn't panic before letting rational thought set in you wouldn't really be part of the family.

I'm right with you on the panic/think sequence. And think of it this way: The pleasure and relief that you surely felt upon receipt of the final box surely would *not* have been so acute if it hadn't been preceded by panic, no?
