In keeping with the old world/new world theme of the holiday

...my new nephew arrived this week, and now rejoices in the first/middle name combination of: Henry Hudson.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! And remember: the best part of the Thanksgiving meal is the pie-for-breakfast the day after.

Ha! Good one, CPP.

MMmmmmmm.......piiie. Don't forget the turkey, cranberry sauce, and leftover dressing sandwiches for lunch! That's almost as good as pie for breakfast.

I have to say that my pies were especially dynamite this year: the pecan extra-buttery and delish, and the pumpkin (made with pulp from a rather sad, forgotten, twice-or-thrice frozen because it was left on the back porch by accident Halloween pumpkin) was better than usual. (And there's not that much room for improvement or disaster in pumpkin pie: how much better was the best pumpkin pie you've ever had, versus the worst pumpkin pie you've ever had?)

Good thinking, Notorious! In my case, it's left over cheesecake with mashed berries on top. If parents ask, I had fruit with cream cheese, milk, and graham crackers.
