Just Not Feeling it Today

You know what? I plan not to write today.

I feel a twinge of guilt. I want to be a "write a little every day" person. But today, I'm just not feeling it. And even though I'm stuck at home all day waiting for a UPS delivery,** I just don't feel so into the writing.

I can't let one day become a week, and a month, and so on. But today, I need to not think about the documents and what they're saying. So my "three things" list for today doesn't feature the standard "write 600 words." I don't think that's such a bad thing. Except that maybe I do, or else I wouldn't be blogging it.

Whatevs. Here's a photo of people reading things:

**A pair of sensible work shoes, and a yoga mat to replace the one that was stolen (WTF? Who steals a yoga mat?), if you care.

sigh. I'm having one of these days as well. And yes, who steals a yoga mat, or a pot with a mint plant in it?

I like the shoes!

I, for once, am having a day when I do write. Have spent weeks mulling over how to start an essay that I need to write--decided it was time to just put something down on paper.

I haven't written in an age (MLA + First Week of Classes = No Writing) but I feel good about it. The plan is that I will work on research for at least 3 hours this weekend, to keep my head in the right place. Also clean my house. The point is, it's ok not to write every day as long as you have a plan for returning to it :)

And I feel like only a truly evil person steals a yoga mat, as stealing seems antithetical to all things yoga.

I have learned to be very gentle on myself when I don't feel like writing, and have learned to trust that even when I am not "writing", I am actually still *writing*.

Those shoes are fucken hideous! Get some motherfucken Danskos!!!!!!!!!!!!

My shoes are not hideous, thankyouverymuch. And I own Danskos, too. Variety is a good thing. Besides, I've seen those leopard-print clogs of yours: pot, meet kettle.

Powells? (the picture)

I have yet to start writing for all of the reasons mentioned, but it'll happen, I hope.

You got it, Undine! It's my favoritist place on the planet, I think.

Ah...I know this feeling..and thank for the posting the picture of the bookshop. It's where I'd rather be now rather than having to finish writing/editing two articles that have to be done asap. Browsing in a bookshop sounds like much more fun.

HOW did your yoga mat get stolen? (And, yeah: who steals a yoga mat? Quite frankly, that's like stealing someone's dirty sweatsocks.)

Eeeewww.
