My apologies to those who took the time to comment on the most recent post, which I have now disappeared. No, it was nothing incriminating or juicy -- it was just incredibly cranky, and I decided, on later reflection, that I just don't want to present that way here, unless it's actually productive in some way. Some of the stuff that I think is clever in the moment... well, it's just not.
This is shaping up to be one cranky-making semester.

The really stupid thing is that since the text of the post was embedded in the atom feed, the post has been preserved in google reader (also there's a google cache if you know where to look). So only the comments on the post have actually been properly deleted.
CPP's comment was actually quite interesting; I had meant to come back to it to read it more carefully (I was quickly glancing through it on my phone and had to put it down). So much for that idea huh?
Full disclosure: I think it was entirely reasonable to can your post after later reflection. Just be aware that you can't really properly delete anything from the internet once it's out there (comments excepted, apparently).
C's snark made me want to jump in and say "Right On, Notorious!"
Consider it said and canned.
Well, I never got to read it, but I agree completely with the sentiment expressed in the title! Wish I'd gotten in there faster!
That totally suckes asse for those of us who devoted a substantial amount of time, thought, and effort drafting substantive comments in response to your poste. And as others have said, your poste is not gone anyway: it remains available in the RSS readers of all subscribers, and has been publicly archived by various Internet entities.
I can appreciate that, Comrade. Hence, the apology.
As a more general explanation: my job currently has me at the end of my rope. I just decided that for me, posting while extremely upset is the equivalent of drunk dialing.
And as a side note to CPP (and anyone else who's been waiting for it), I'm still planning on pulling together our joint post, but it looks like it's going to be the weekend before I can do it. On the other hand, today's meeting may actually bear on how I frame it, so perhaps the delay is a good thing.
Forbearance, please.
Of course. If you still have my comment, could you e-mail me the text? BTW, did you get the paragraph I sent you?
I think you'll find that the technical term is "cranktastic".
Notorious idiot, do us all a favor and do not declare yourself an intellectual because if that is the case we are all Stephen Hawkings. Reading fiction 13 hours a day does not make one an intellectual. Leave it to the public to decide what we think of your intellect, so far I'm not seeing much. Please shove all apostrophes up your elitist ass. P.S. I'm not bothering with your personal email....I'll leave my comment here for your groupies to gander at,asshole.
Wow--the passions roused by a disappeared post are really impressive! It's almost like this isn't your blog and you don't have the right to post what you want to (or delete what you want to!)
Whatevs, dudes.
Anonymous, I'll do you one better: you're my new star.
Sweet! Turd-comments...what can you do?
