Deep Breath

Back from spring break. Let's see what I did:
  • Monday through Wednesday: Flew to Grad School town; saw good friends, many of whom let me stay in their spare beds (thank you!).
  • Thursday: drove across state lines to go to a friend's memorial
  • Friday: left memorial town and drove across parts of four states to hit a conference that I was participating in
  • Saturday: More conference
  • Sunday: Hanging out with friends
  • Monday: Flight home; arrive at 4; teach at 6:30

It was wonderful to see my friends and my old home, but think I need a vacation from my vacation.

Oh, your spring break makes mine (two separate trips, three days at home in between) seem positively restful! And I know just what you mean -- I'm glad I took my trips, but oh, I would love to be at home with no obligations for about 2 days.

Work is just a respite in-between conferences and research trips! And you don't have to fish around for quarters to do your laundry...usually.

Welcome back!

Hi, my first time to the site and I wasn't sure where I should put this. But I'm wondering if you can tell me where your quote at the top of your blog comes from. I have a good idea, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome back, guys.

And anonymous, tell you what: if you guess right, I'll confirm it.
