First, Do No Harm

... and yet, I seem to find myself in the process of actively making my book MS worse. I'm hoping it's like cleaning the house,** in that sometimes you have to pull out everything and make a huge mess before you can truly get it clean. I hope.

In the meantime, here's another totally unrelated photograph from my recent trip to Exotic Research City:

**Yes, that item is still on my "three things" list, now for three days running. Sue me.

There's 4 things in your 3 things list, and cleaning house is last, so technically, it isn't even there.

I love the pic, especially the light on the woman in the middle and the guy on the left looking right at you.

GL with the book stuff!

Glad you're liking the pictures. It's about the only thing I have energy for these days.

I think that this picture is totally fantastic. Before I read your post or clicked on it, I assumed (at first glance) that it was a painting you were thinking of using for the book. Nice work, Notorious.

If some of those farmer's market berries are blueberries, think about this:

Measure about a third of the berries into a smallish, heavy pan. Add sugar--roughly one-half the volume of berries in he pan--lemon juice, and a little cinnamon. Cook over low heat; the berries will break down and release their juice, and now it's safe to raise the eat and cook until this starts to get tick. (Exactness is not a major consideration.) Put this gloop into a bowl and let it cool to room temperature. Stir the uncooked berries in so they get coated with the, what, compĂ´te, I guess you'd call it. The result can be spooned over ice cream or into pre-baked tart shells or served alongside cheese blintzes... great stuff.

Dr Notorious, I am unable to avoid a suspicion. Are there geese near the location of that photo? I rather think I've stood there. If not, then, wow, that Gothic gets around huh? and sorry.

Thanks for the love on the photos, people.
@ tenthmedieval: Yep, you've found me out. Or at least, you now know where Exotic Research City is located. Unless all such structures come equipped with geese.

@ Dr. S: Thanks for noticing! I don't usually digitally alter shots (except to crop), but this one is a deliberate effect, gotten by bumping the exposure & saturation up, and sharpening the edges to give it that flattened look. It works best on shots with bright colors and a lot of depth (flatten an already shallow field, and no one will notice).

@ Rootlesscosmo: I *do* have blueberries! Blue, black, and raz, as a matter of fact. The blues are especially tasty right now. It's too hot here to cook them down to a compote right now, but I'll try it with the next batch.

I don't know if they all come with geese but that one's lovely. I hope this wasn't too much disclosure!
