If you really loved me, you'd do it.

Today, I'm on campus until 9:30. I have no food in the fridge, and have not had time to shop for a week. There is also no food worth eating on this campus. And I will get home around 10 p.m., and I will be cold, and there will still not be any food in the fridge.

Would one of my readers like to come by and fix me dinner, to be waiting for me when I get home?

You can come over and eat the leftover stir-fry I made tonight.

Good lord! You have to have an exam or class that goes to 9 or 9:30?

That's pretty craptastic. I had a 7 a.m. exam 2 years ago. The thing is, if they waited to schedule exams ONLY for professors actually having in-class exams (rather than papers or final projects), they wouldn't have to run exams for 14 hours straight during exam week.

If I could, I'd bring you over some pumpkin lasagne or something like that, from one of your recipes!

You guys are awesome. I managed to find some overpriced beans & rice on campus, so I was fine. But your dinners sound much nicer.

H'ann, I'm regularly scheduled for night classes (1 this semester, 2 next semester... one semester I had *three* of them), which run from 6:30-9:15. This puts the start time for the final at 7:15. And we are required to hold some "instructional activity" in class on the day of the final, for all our classes (including grad courses). It's silly.

Don't you have market women selling cheap and yummy food nearby? Or do you live in North Korea or some other Stalinist country where such activities are banned? I will be going to visit some market women soon to buy dinner.

Well, you did send your address. I could mail some Pho. Next semester I have a class that gets out at 9:40, and then a 15-20 minute walk to my car, and then a 52-mile drive home. Only one night a week, but still - I'm dreading it already. But that's just one. And I'm not teaching.

Is there anything open near you on campus at night?
