another year...

...another bike accident. Hit-and-run drivers = not cool. Helpful bystanders and bike helmets = thumbs up.

Oh no! What is wrong w/ people? I know too many people who were hit by careless motorists. I'm glad you're ok, and that there were people to help.

Gah! Don't drivers know that hitting a cyclist is a serious issue! I am sorry you went through this again.

Hey all --

Thanks for your well-wishes. I'm fine-ish. I should be paste, but I have a few stitches, some pulled muscles, and a couple of other assorted owies. I'm a fortunate girl scholar.

And fortunate for all the give-a-damn I see here. Thank you.

Of course, the fact that I'm feeling better means I have no excuse to ditch my morning committee meeting, so I'm off!

Oh my! I can't believe this isn't the first time this has happened to you. So glad you are ok.

Argh! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and I hope his or her car breaks down irrecoverably somewhere embarrassing.

Riding your bike is another reason to keep up with the yoga. Strength and flexibility are enormously protective--think of Hermann Meier's infamous slalom wipeout, and how he walked away from it.

I hope you're not too sore. Hooray for Vitamin I!

Thanks again for your support everyone. Being a bike commuter is always a tricky business, and even the safest riders are going to take a tumble now and then.

H'ann, you're absolutely right: If not for the yoga, my muscles would have been in their usual knotted-up state, and I'd probably be much the worse for wear right now.

Good luck on your recovery! I apologize on behalf of stupid drivers...
